MARKET READY

Before It Goes to Market.

Selling a collector car starts long before the listing goes live. Shifting Gears helps owners understand what they have, determine where it sits in the market, uncover its history, and professionally prepare it for sale.

We prepare the car. You conduct the sale.

The sale is one transaction. Getting the car ready is a project.

A good collector-car sale depends on more than uploading a few photographs.

  • The market needs to be understood.

  • The car needs to be evaluated.

  • The right work needs to be completed.

  • Its history needs to be organized.

  • Its story needs to be researched.

  • Its flaws need to be documented.

  • And the final presentation needs to give an enthusiast confidence in what they're looking at.

That's where Shifting Gears comes in.

Vehicle Dossier — A Specialized Service

From $2,750

Best suited to cars where the history itself needs to be proven:

  • Historically significant vehicles

  • Competition history

  • Significant provenance

  • Factory-record research

  • Substantial paper archives

  • Uncertain ownership history

  • Previous auction history

  • Collections requiring formal documentation

We organize what exists and research what can be found — ownership, service history, previous sales and auction appearances, archived listings, factory records, publications and period material. Every claim is graded by the strength of its evidence, so a buyer can see what’s proven and what isn’t.
